A popular transporter, Muihili Adebayo who operates within Akure-Lagos route, is the latest victim of abduction by armed bandits. The assailants attacked him on Wednesday night at his residence in the Shagari area of Owo Local Government Area, Ondo State; killing his son and injuring his wife while he was reportedly taken away by the gunmen.
It was gathered that, Adebayo’s wife was shot in the hand while resisting the kidnappers, but one of their children was killed during the struggle.
The injured woman was later rushed to the Federal Medical Centre (FMC) in Owo, where she remains in a coma.
Meanwhile, the kidnappers had demanded the sum of N20 million ransom for Adebayo’s release while family members have appealed to the government and the public for assistance.
However, no official report has been issued by the Ondo State Police Command on the matter.
